I have been asked that question so many times.  So, let me explain to you that there is indeed, a best diet plan to lose weight – and that plan is to eat naturally.

However, there is just one thing that you need to remember and that is: Mother Nature knows best.

Yes, before all the processed foods and convenience ready-made meals where invented, the human race seemed to manage quite alright.  So, if you are looking for the best diet to lose weight, just return back to basics.

  • Fresh fish – cod, mackerel, salmon,hake, pilchards, sardines, trout, tuna, halibut etc.

Even when you are losing weight, your body will still need it’s nutrients to keep you functioning properly.  In fact, maintaining your correct nutrient intake is perhaps the only way to lose weight healthily and permanently.

So many fad diets require that you exclude a certain food type and these diets generally fly in the face of Mother Nature and commonsense.

Poultry will provide you with the protein your body needs to help avoid fatigue, anxiety, skin ulcers, sleeping difficulties and depression.

Poultry will also help suppress your appetite as it adds substance to any meal – and it is an over-active appetite that can wreak any diet plans to lose weight.

Many people think that, when on a diet to lose weight, the skin should be removed from any chicken meat as it contains more calories per unit weight.  I personally find that, as long as you are eating appropriately at other times, a piece of chicken skin here or there is not going to jeopardize any weight loss plans.

So, I always eat my chicken with the skin left on – it adds a lovely savoury flavour to the meal.
