How can I achieve fast weight loss?

That is a question that everybody who is overweight asks these days.

The trouble is, that with today’s hectic lifestyles, people just do not have the time to to learn and follow any complicated fast weight loss diet plan.

I am sure you are the same.  You just want to lose weight fast without having to bother with expensive diet supplements, intricate calorie calculations or boring low fat, low calorie, low taste milk shakes.

And, as for those fad diet books that promise miraculous result within days, but take over 150 pages of self-hype and self-opinionated fluff before they actually detail anything that is even slightly of practical help – well, when you have a family and career to attend to, you just do not have time for these self-appointed so-called gurus.

So, what two easy steps can you take today that will turbo boost some fast weight loss?

Here are two easy things that you can start doing today that will result in a quick 5lbs to 10lbs weight loss in a short period.

Most importantly, and to the relief of many people who have followed these steps in the past, increased exercise is not necessary.  If you can undertake a little more physical activity, fine.  If not, no worries, you should still lose weight as long as you stick to just these two simply fast weight loss tips.

1. Drink more water

Water is natural.  Water has no calorific value.  Water will help suppress appetite. Water is cheap.

What more needs to be said?

Water should be at the heart of any quick weight loss diet plan.

So, eliminate all canned drinks, soft drinks, diet drinks and alcohol. They all contain sugar or calories or artificial additives – and you do not want these from a drink when you are trying to lose weight fast.

If you find water boring and uninspiring and want a drink that has a little more zest to it, then try this.  Squeeze the juice of a fresh lemon or orange into a pint jug of water.  This will add taste.  If you want texture, then add a few finely chopped juicy bits from the orange or lemon.

On average, you want to be drinking as many fluid ounces of water in a day as half your body weight in pounds.

So, if you weight 10 stone 6 pounds:

  • That equals 146lbs
  • Divide by 2 and that gives73.
  • 73 fluid ounces is just over 3½ pints

Hence, someone weighing 10st 6lbs  should be drinking at least 3½ pints of water a day.

Dr. Brenda Davy, associate professor of human nutrition, foods and exercise at Virginia Tech, has undertaken studies that indicates that drinking water helps weight loss.

Do not be tempted by diet or low calorie drinks – water is 100% better than any of these.

2. Avoid the four white evils

White flour, white sugar, dairy products and refined salt are the four chief foodstuffs that can play havoc with any diet plan.

If you can eliminate these four evils from your diet then you will not only lose a quick 5lbs to 10lbs, but you will also feel more energetic in yourself.

Certainly, consuming sugar has long been acknowledged as being unhelpful if you want to lose weight.

In addition, excess salt intake is also know to increase the risk of high blood pressure.

Some people are also aware that refined and processed flour is not the healthiest option.

However, most people think of dairy products as being healthy and natural.

But, if you want to shed those extra pounds around your waist, avoid all dairy foodstuffs.  Get the calcium your body needs to function efficiently from leafy, green vegetables.

If you stop drinking milk and avoid cream, cheese, yogurts and all other dairy products, then you will not only loss weight faster, but you will also improve your digestive system and reduce the risk of clogged arteries.

Yes, quick weight loss can really be that simple.

Replace the unhealthy food that you had been eating before with plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables, poultry or lean meat, brown rice and raw nuts and you will soon see your body weight falling by 5lbs to 10lbs in a very short time.
